Construction workers new hospital without permits
WILLEMSTAD – Last week four construction workers had to stop working on the property of the Hospital Nobo Otrobanda (HNO) because they did not have a work permit.
This was confirmed by the Minister Ruthmilda Larmonie Cecilia of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW).
The workers did have a residence permit and this is why they were not arrested.
At Artis Supermarket in Otrabanda authorities made an arrest after they had dealt with the four workers at the HNO. This woman of Chinese descent was not able to show her work permit and this after three previous inspections.
The Department conducts regular checks with a multidisciplinary team of inspectors of the SOAW, the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) and the police.
