Cordoba faction leader ruling party PS
WILLEMSTAD - The new leader of Pueblo Soberano (PS) Jaime Cordoba is again officially the new chairman of the faction of the ruling party in parliament.
He succeeds party colleague Melvin "Mac" Cijntje, who since the assassination of party founder Helmin Wells on May 2013 has chaired the group in parliament. Earlier this year Cijntje has temporarily stepped aside from his chairmanship due to a medical treatment abroad.
At the time it was Cordoba who succeeded him. It was Cordoba who on 1 November figuratively gave back the chairmanship of the faction to Cijntje, but with the election of Cordoba as the new political leader of the PS, he takes the chairmanship again.
He has been formally, since December 16, again the faction leader of the PS.
