Cordoba offered 2 million as bribe

WILLEMSTAD – According to Member of Parliament and vice-president Jaime Cordoba (PS), he was offered two million guilders by an unknown person to withdraw his support to the new coalition.

Cordoba did not want to say who this person is. Currently there are 11 members of the 21 members of parliament working on the formation of a new government. If one of these 11 members withdraws its support for these negotiations, then the negotiation team will lose the majority and the formation of a new government will have to start again.

“If I ever decide to leave, then I will return my seat to the party,” says Cordoba. The former police commissioner also said that he will not file a complaint against the person who tried to bribe him. “I’ve submitted the whole issue to the party, I gave them the e-mail and the name of the person,” Cordoba stated.
