Court of Audit investigates appointment new direct BTP&U at Supervisory Board
WILLEMSTAD - The appointment of Franklin Sluis caused a lot of turmoil in the media. The former Cpost director would not be uncontroversial. He is now the new director of the Bureau Telecommunications, Post and Utilities (BTP&U).

The appointment process has been running since June 25, 2015. Deloitte Dutch Caribbean was in charge of this process. A committee of three people finally looked at the candidates and assessed them on legal knowledge, knowledge of governmental processes and staff knowledge. The advice was sent to the Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Spatial Planning, Suzanne Camelia-Römer on September 22.
The report shows that 39 people have applied for the job, and six people were selected for a first interview. Four of them have undergone an assessment. At the conclusion of the evaluation three individuals were called, two of whom fully met the required qualifications.
The committee eventually selected Franklin Sluis the best candidate, says Camelia-Römer. Part of the process was a safety and integrity investigations. This research was conducted by Forensic Services Caribbean. According to the Minister, there were no objections against Sluis.
