Cova: ‘I will step over the political incident’

Errol-CovaWILLEMSTAD - Errol Cova is pleased with the agreement between the government and the unions PWFC and APRI. "I will step over the political incident and will wait for the composition of the committee and then work on the interests of the unions that have nominated me," says Cova . This afternoon Cova will meet with the chairmen of the unions to hear exactly how the agreement came to be and what the plans are.

Earlier this it became clear that the oil refinery employees were not involved in the plans for the modernization of the refinery. In addition, there was a commotion on the nomination of Cova by the unions.  Yesterday, the government also agreed to the choice of the unions after long consultation.

“The time limit that is imposed on state oil company PdVSA is discussed extensively during the meeting between the Government and the unions. I would like to know from the presidents how they see this and how they want to tackle it. On this basis, we will take steps to reach a common approach. “Cova will be responsible in the negotiating team for the section employment and human resources.
