Covenant between Curoil and Suriname State Oil
WILLEMSTAD – Conform its vision, the Curaçao state-owned company Curoil is continuously searching for interesting ways to expand its international business. For this reason, Curoil announces that recently it has signed a letter of intent with the Suriname state oil company in which both parties declare the willingness for mutual cooperation and to invest in economic activities.
Just as Curoil, State Oil (Staatsolie) is a state-owned company with the government of Suriname as the sole shareholder. The company was established in 1982 and it started its commercial operations. The current production is at 17 thousand barrels per day derived from three oil fields. State Oil has its own refinery, which is currently in the final stages of modernization and expansion. This will offer more possibility of production of oil products.
Since its beginnings in 1985, Curoilhas faces the various challenges in its way to become a strong pillar of the local economy. Now the company has an extensive list of international clients.
