CTB: More and more Brazilians choose Curaçao as their vacation destination
WILLEMSTAD - According to interim director of the Curaçao Tourist Board, Hugo Clarinda, there is, since a few months, a strong increase in the number of Brazilian tourists coming to the island.
Clarinda tells the morning newspaper Extra that this all has to do with a promotional campaign for Curaçao in the country. The campaign which was launched early last year is now bearing fruit. According to the interim director, the number of Brazilian tourists visiting Curacao has even grown by 69 percent in August.
The rest of the month the growth was about 20 percent more Brazilian tourists. To have more Brazilians visit Curaçao, Clarinda is in talks with the Colombian airline Avianca to see the potential for a scheduled flight between Curaçao and Sao Paulo. This route would likely start operating next July, said Clarinda.
