Curaçao borrows an extra 35 million guilders
WILLEMSTAD – The government of Curaçao will borrow and extra 35 million guilders. This amount is intended to renovate schools, repair roads and pay the automation of the tax services.
The loan is possible because the Netherlands guarantees a very low interest rate. The Committee for Financial Supervision (CFT) gave its approval for this loan. President of the CFT, Age Bakker says that in this way, in the last five years, around 200 million guilders has been earned on loans that were otherwise commercially invested.
