Curaçao wants end to financial supervision
WILLEMSTAD - Curacao wants an end to the financial supervision after this year. That became clear recently during the hearing of the Council of State, where Curaçao government filed a complaint against the Kingdom Act on Financial Supervision.
The government has formally requested in October last year in the Kingdom Government to not want to wait until 2018 on a new decision about the possible revocation of the Act on Financial Supervision. This request was not addressed substantively in the Kingdom Council of Ministers.
Also the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations Ronald Plasterk has never commented on this request. The Netherlands has now agreed that it will bring Curaçao’s request in the next review.
