Curaçao’s coast is not closed

Coast Guard6WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard has not closed the coast of the island. Such a decision has not been made by the Government of Curaçao. This is according to the Minister of Kingdom Relations Ronald Plasterk in response to questions from the Dutch House of Representatives.

The Dutch Minister is contradicting previous statements made by his colleague in Curaçao, the Minister of Justice Quincy Girigorie.

However, a special committee has been appointed to investigate the problem of illegal immigration from Venezuela and how this can be tackled.
