Demissionary Premier Schotte offered condolences to the American people

WILLEMSTAD - Demissionary Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte offered, as head of the Curaçao government, condolences to Valerie Belon, U.S. Consul, and the American community at the American Consulate. Schotte was accompanied by Director Arthur Kibbelaar of Foreign Relations (DBB).

Last Tuesday, the U.S. embassy in Cairo and the U.S. consulate in Benghazi Libya were attacked. When the attack came in Benghazi U.S. Ambassador John Christopher Steven and three staff members were killed. The cause of death was a rocket which was launched in the direction of the American diplomatic building.

The Consul of the United States in Curacao, Valerie Belon, opened a book of condolence to commemorate those  victims who served their country for many years abroad and tragically lost their lives.
