Departure of the British Vice Consul in the Dutch Caribbean

british-embassy-the-hagueLONDON, WILLEMSTAD - The British Embassy in The Hague announces with regret that the British Vice Consul in the Dutch Caribbean, Mrs Anne-Marie Pietersz-Powell, will be leaving her post on 14 December 2017 after 15 years.  During that time, Mrs Pietersz has worked tirelessly to improve bilateral relations with the islands, to help bolster crisis preparedness, and above all to safeguard British and Commonwealth nationals.  Ambassador Peter Wilson said:

“I am so grateful for the service Anne-Marie has given to the UK’s relationship with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, most recently during the Hurricane Irma crisis.  I wish her all the very best in the future”

We are in the process of recruiting two honorary consuls for the Dutch Caribbean and hope to be able to announce their appointment in early 2018. One recruitment has just finished. Those interested in the other position can apply here. In the meantime, consular assistance for British nationals will be provided by the Consulate General in Amsterdam, which may be contacted 24/7 on +31 70 4270 427.
