Director Advent Hospital speaks a clear language

medicalWILLEMSTAD – The Director of the Advent Hospital, Cenaida Panneflek was very adamant against the Minister of Health, Ben Whiteman, in her speech during a recent press conference.

Minister Whiteman previously claimed that the Advent Hospital is as good as bankrupt and it will follow the same fate as the Taams Clinic. Panneflek stressed, during her speech, that the statements made by the Minister are simply not true. Panneflek indicated that the Minister should know that what he said was not based on the truth because he has the financial figures in his possession. “We demand from the Minister to rectify his declarations,” Panneflek stressed.

The director also cites that Advent, unlike Taams Clinic, has never asked the government for financial assistance and has always paid its bills on time. She also emphasized, during the press conference, that a merger of the three hospitals is not a good idea, because she believes that multiple medical care facilities will keep the market healthy as opposed to a monopoly.

Panneflek also asked when the Minister will adjust the tariffs. “We have the lowest tariffs on the island. It has been like this for 15 years now. We are still waiting for the government to comply with its promises,” Panneflek stated.
