Dutch civil servants meet in Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD - The entire management of the Ministry of Kingdom Relations of Ronald Plasterk took an exotic trip last week. The 28 officials came to Curaçao to hold meetings.
On the island, where the temperature is currently above the 30 degrees, the entire team had to come to understand how things are in practice and to talk to local employees. Normally these kinds of meetings are always held in The Hague, but this year the management has decided to hold them here in the Caribbean.
The officials at the Ministry of Kingdom Relations are responsible for the relations between the Netherlands and the islands of the former Netherlands Antilles, but other Ministries in the Netherlands are not really convinced that the trip was necessary when they learned that the entire management of 28 people traveled to the island.
“That’s not an official trip, but a nice team outing,” whispered an official from another Ministry in the Netherlands.
