Dutch Minister of Defense visits Curaçao
WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Defense of the Dutch Kingdom, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, is on an official visit to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom since yesterday. Her visit will be till April 10 and it will include Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius and Saba. The Minister will visit the Dutch soldiers, who perform defense and police functions for the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
She will also meet with various authorities.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the minister will be hosted by the Commander of the Navy in the Caribbean (CZMCARIB) in Curaçao. He is in command of the units that can be used in the defense of the territory, the maintenance of international law and to support civil authorities in the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom.
The minister speaks in Willemstad with the Governor, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Justice and the President of Parliament.
On Wednesday she will visit St. Eustatius and Saba, where she will have a meeting with the Lieutenant-Governors and the staff of the Royal Military Police. The official visit will end in St. Maarten. There, the Minister will meet with the Governor, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice.
