Elisa Carter started work at hospital
Elisa Carter’s tasks: Improving patient care and management. Carter would collect 35,000 guilders per month
WILLEMSTAD – Elisa Carter began on June 5, 2015 with her work for the St. Elisabeth Hospital (Sehos). This has not been officially announced by Minister Ben Whiteman of Public Health, who indicated that the appointment of Carter is a condition connected with the provision of the required cash injection of 30 million guilders in the hospital after it was faced with a budget deficit.
Carter’s main tasks are to improve patient care and management of the hospital. This was indicated in the quick scan report of the financing organization USONA.
Chairman of the Board, Ashley Duits, the medical staff and the administration are in favor of the appointment of Carter. Earlier, the chairman, had already sent a letter to Minister Whiteman in August 2014 in which he proposed Carter’s appointment. “We follow the Dutch model for hospitals that have problems,” said German, who sees no problem in Carter’s appointment.
Whiteman himself defended the appointment of Carter, who has an impressive resume, but not exactly uncontroversial in connection with the early departure from the Medical Center Erasmus in Rotterdam, with the statement that “the experience Carter brings is needed at the Sehos”. Carter’s salary is reportedly 35,000 guilders per month for two years.
