Final division of assets submitted

Curacao Government CenterWILLEMSTAD - The chairman of the Small committee charged with drawing up the inventory balance of the Netherlands Antilles, Alberto Romero, has presented the final division of assets per October 9, 2010 to the Chairman of the Settlement Committee, Faroe Metry.

Romero offered the reports in the presence of Anthony Cijntje, the Curaçao member of the Settlement Committee, Robert Cornax, secretary of the committee, Candice Henriquez of Central Bank and Raymond Faneyte, Norbert van Gestel and Glenn Becker of the public accountant bureau SOAB.

The Settlement Committee began its work in April 2011 and will conclude the first phase of the division at the end of this month. Then, the committee will provide the finance ministers of Curaçao and St. Maarten and the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations its final report, which includes the final division of assets and a proposal to allocate the assets of the balance sheet and liabilities. A findings report by KPMG with regards to the division of assets and the allocation proposal has been added thereto.

This allocation includes property, interests in limited liability companies of the government, cash, outstanding claims on others and outstanding debts to third parties. The three ministers should reach an agreement within three months on the allocation and the subsequent liquidation.
