FKP will administer Colon shopping mall

FKPWILLEMSTAD - The government has signed a management agreement with the government housing association (FKP) to manage the Colon Shopping Mall. The government has bought the mall for 18 million guilders with the purpose to tear the south wing down and build a new hospital.

With the exception of the south wing, which has already been leveled to the ground, FKP will manage the mall for the next six months. FKP will perform management through a foundation that was previously established.

After the management agreement with the FKP expires, the government will receive the excess of the rental income minus the management and operating costs. FKP is hereby allowed to deduct any funds that the government has not yet been paid to them.

This Agreement shall terminate on December 1, but at the request of the Government, the management agreement may be renewed for a period of three months once. Then management will then be transferred to an entity set up by the government.
