Former minister Jamaloodin no longer behind bars
WILLEMSTAD - This morning, the magistrate ruled that former Finance Minister George Jamaloodin no longer needed to stay behind bars.
Jamaloodin had turned himself to the police after his wife filed for assault and kidnapping. The day before yesterday the detention of Jamaloodin was extended by a maximum of eight days. Apparently, the magistrate believed that it is no longer appropriate to hold him pending the investigation.
The Public Prosecutor has not yet responded.
