Government stops salaries of 16 civil servants
WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Administration, Planning and Government Services, Etienne van der Horst has commissioned his Ministry to stop the payment of the salaries of sixteen civil servants.
In this group of sixteen, there are 5 who have been convicted and are behind bars at the moment. The decision is part of the effort of the minister to come to a better management and registration of the non-active officials of the country Curaçao.
In this first group, there are also eleven officials at home with unauthorized absence, without a valid reason. The minister indicates that he is not able to provide information on individual cases, but that he can give a general indication of how the situation is with these civil servants.
At this time, there are 81 civil servants at home. There are eleven people who are sick.
Three people are at home with some addiction problem, there are two that have a labor dispute, 33 that have an access denial in connection with an investigation, seven are at home for disciplinary reasons, another five who have been suspended, eleven persons with unauthorized absence and one case in which a person has indicated, without any reasons, that her “session” has been terminated. Five are in prison and three are at home for unknown reasons.
