Greentown stands no chance in parliament
WILLEMSTAD - The initiators of Greentown will present their plans today in parliament. They want to develop a new town on the oil refinery terrain after its closure in 2019.
According to the Caribbean Network, that mission in parliament stands no chance to succeed, because most politicians want to continue with the oil industry on the island. According to a survey done by the Caribbean Network.
According to Charles Cooper, who is on the payroll of PdVSA, the Venezuelan State Oil Company, which operates the refinery, Curaçao will soon need the refinery. All the oil that lies here below ground can be refined according to the MAN politician.
Greentown will travel to the Netherlands this coming Thursday to speak to the standing committee Kingdom Relations in the Lower House in the Dutch Parliament.
