Health Inspector not surprised with inquiry committee

Jan HuurmanWILLEMSTAD - Inspector General Jan Huurman is not surprised that a committee of inquiry has been set up to look at the complaints against him. He was present when the decision was made.

He claims to be familiar with at least one complaint and he is not worried about that. He did not see the complaint filed by the Advent Hospital: “I am very curious about this.”

Advent Hospital has filed a complaint about the manner in which Huurman acts: he acts, among other things, very intimidating. Director of the Association of Medical Specialists Alexander Saleh can imagine that this is due to a language and/or culture difference. Huurman denies this:

“As a regulator you simply have to deal with this. Curaçao employees of the X-team have recently been shot at because they did their work. Now they are trying to silence the inspection through this complaint. That's the way it is.”

Huurman further states that he has enough knowledge of the language to be able to understand everyone.
