Hodge: Asjes misinforms the people

Daniel HodgeWILLEMSTAD – The declaration given by Prime Minister Asjes, that the MoU signed by former Prime Minister Daniel Hodge with Aruba and the Netherlands is illegal, is not correct. This is according to former Prime Minister in the Interim Government, Daniel Hodge. Hodge laments that something so important as the signing of an MoU is being used for political vengeance, referring to the MoU signed between the Dutch Kingdom and Venezuela in June of this year.

“It is obvious that Prime Minister Asjes was not happy that PAR questioned the way he dealt with the lottery through the SMS system. The Prime Minister had to realize now that his strategy has backfired on him,” Hodge indicated.

“His experts should have explained to him that there is nothing illegal with the MoU nor the signing of it by the former Prime Minister,” Hodge continued.

“We’ve also noted that there is an expert who asked if the signatures of the Prime Ministers of Curacao, Aruba and Sint Maarten were necessary seeing that it is an MoU between the Dutch Kingdom and Venezuela. So whether it was signed by the Prime Ministers of Curacao, Aruba and Saint Maarten or not, it doesn’t change the validity of the MoU. The issue now is the preferential treatment that the “lottery boss” Stanley Palm (current Minister of Economic Development) gets is becoming more and more suspicious every day,” Hodge concluded.
