“How much did the trip to Curaçao cost?”
THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD – Three Dutch Members of the House of Representatives have independently asked the Minister of Kingdom Relations, Ronald Plasterk how much the cost of the trip of the management of his Ministry to Curaçaowas. 28 top officials of the Ministry of Kingdom Relations were on the island a few weeks ago for a working trip.
“What is the reason that the entire management of your ministry was on a working trip to Curaçao? What is the reason that the annual consultations, which normally takes place in The Hague, were held in Curaçao this time? Roelof van Laar MP wanted to know.
The MP for the Socialist Party, Ronald van Raak wants a specified overview of all costs of overheads associated with the trip.
Sietse Fritsma of the opposition party PVV asked the Minister why he permits his Ministry to squander with Dutch taxpayer’s money on a “fun” trip to Curaçao. “Will you stop handing free trips to civil servants on the costs of the taxpayer? Next time pay it out of your own pocket,” said Fritsma.
