Husband former minister arrested in ‘Dubnium’ case
WILLEMSTAD - The husband of former Minister of Public Health and current Member of Parliament for the opposition party MFK, Jacintha Constancia was arrested yesterday.
According to the Public Prosecution (OM), he was involved in fraud with orders of surgical masks, which are used in hospitals.
The arrest has to do with the investigation dubbed ‘Dubnium’ for fraud, forgery, embezzlement and money laundering.
According to the OM, the Government Medical Facility Agency (BZV) is the victim in this case.
On March 24, of this year a suspect was arrested in this case. The BZV placed an order in 2012 for these surgical masks. The suspect received the payment of 365,000 guilders, but the products were never delivered.
The current Minister of Public Health, Dr. Ben Whiteman filed a complaint and the case is being investigated by the OM.
