Isla strike over
WILLEMSTAD – The actions of the oil refinery employees at “post 5” (entrance to the refinery) came to end today. Parties have promised during the summary proceedings in court and at the behest of the judge that they will come together in consultation to discuss the conflict.
Workers employed by contractors at the oil refinery Isla are demanding a wage increase of 6 percent. The contractors do not want to pay that. The contractors met with the union under the leadership of the mediator.
The parties indicated that follow up summary proceedings this Friday will not be necessary. They believe that they can resolve the conflict on their own.
