Jardim: Tax Department and banks work well with the Netherlands

Jose JardimWILLEMSTAD – Finance Minister Dr. Jose Jardim has denied that the cooperation with the Dutch Tax Department is far below standard. In particular, that the local banks are fail in providing financial data of their clients. This is what the former minister of Kingdom Relations Liesbeth Spies said in October to the Dutch Parliament.

Jardim told Spies’ successor, Ronald Plasterk, that Curacao indeed contributes to the exchange of data between Curacao and the Dutch tax authorities. Minister Jardim has now sent the information requested by the Netherlands on data submitted by the banks to Plasterk. According to the Financie Minister, none of the information requested by the Dutch tax authorities was set aside.
