Jesus-Leito: Coalition takes over opposition
WILLEMSTAD - "Members of the coalition are taking over the role of the opposition," said PAR leader Zita Jesus-Leito following the statements made by the leader of the coalition party PNP, Humphrey Davelaar. Davelaar criticized the recently enacted tax laws proposed by the Minister of Justice, Dr. José Jardim. Which caused much criticism. This is because his party is also part of the government.
The tax laws were adopted with thirteen votes for and three against. Davelaar ultimately voted for the bill because in the amendments, there are points of change which will have to be taken over by the government.
According to Jesus-Leito she was ousted from her opposition role by Davelaar, but she is glad that the coalition has come under pressure to stand and she will make good use of that.
