Jesus-Leito; ‘Departure Hodge disappointing, but the party looks ahead’

Zita-Jesus-LeitoWILLEMSTAD – Daniel Hodge announced last weekend that he will resign as the leader of the political party PAR. “The party was disappointed by the news, but the members have indicated that we should accept his decision and find a solution,” this is according to the president of the party, Zita Jesus-Leito.

Hodge has indicated that he can’t combine his work as a bank manager in the Postal Savings Bank with being a political leader of a party. “This kind of news is not good for the party, but we must move on. We have heard the news and our next step is to find a solution,” Jesus-Leito indicated.

If Jesus-Leito has ambitions to take over the leadership of the party is not sure. “You can have the ambitions, but the party should decide. The question now is, what are we doing and what steps should the government take? Eventually, the members will decide who they want to see as their political leader. If they asked me to take over the leadership then I will certainly take that into consideration,” said PAR President Jesus-Leito.
