Jesus-Leito does not agree with government’s negotiation structure
WILLEMSTAD – Member of Parliament and leader of the opposition party PAR, Zita Jesus-Leito finds it incomprehensible that the parliament is not involved in the negotiations to renew the concession of the Curaçao Port Services (CPS) in the harbor. The coalition parties are working on it. There are talk of a 30 year extension.
According to Jesus-Leito this is an issue of national importance. “It is incredible that such an important decision for our island and our economy is taken within the government, which is completely ignoring the parliament,” said the opposition MP.
She calls the leader of coalition party PAIS, Alex Rosaria, to call back the government. According to Jesus-Leito, the creation of the Gas and Oil Company was also realized outside parliament.
“This is undemocratic and the government is not showing accountability in this way,” said Jesus-Leito.
