Leeflang: ‘Government must pay CDM workers’

Omayra LeeflangWILLEMSTAD – Independent Member of Parliament, Omayra Leeflang wants the government to pay the 300 employees of the Curaçao Dock Company (CDM). The MP indicated this in a letter to the Minister of Economic Development Stanley Palm. According to Leeflang, the workers still need to receive 3.5 million guilders.

The MP is also concerned about the 80 million dollars that CDM must pay to three Cubans. The claim from three Cubans who have worked with CDM has risen to $ 120 million including interest. The Cubans claim this amount, because they were victims of modern slavery for many years while working for the CDM.
