Legislation for Curaçao’s aviation sector to regain category 1
WILLEMSTAD - According to the Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Spatial Planning, Suzanne Camelia-Römer, her ministry that is responsible for aviation is working hard for the aviation sector of the island to be admitted to category 1 by the U.S. Federal Aviation Authority (FAA).
The minister indicated that there are new developments in this process. Her Ministry has sent a bill proposal to parliament that deals with the new requirements for safety in aviation.
The Curaçao Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) is also renewing the license of the technicians. Pilots and air traffic controllers must pas an examination.
All these efforts are to regain the category 1 status.
