Members of Parliament sworn in next Wednesday
WILLEMSTAD - On November 2 the Members of the new Parliament are sworn in. As it stands now, there will still be no new government. This is according to 'informateur' Kenneth Gijsbertha.
Gijsbertha did not anticipate the facts but stressed that at present the parties still need to negotiate over the distribution of portfolios. Then they have to present their candidate ministers. After they have done that, the candidate-ministers will have to go through a thorough screening and that takes time.
Yesterday there were rumors about problems between the negotiating parties. Some media even indicated that the negotiations stalled. According to Gijsbertha this is not true. “Everyone should take into account that there will always be discussions in these kinds of negotiations.”
