Message from Minister Ruggenaath to the teachers and students in Curaçao
Today we celebrate our National Education Day (‘Dia di Enseñansa’) in Curacao.
One of the goals in our National Development Plan (http://bit.ly/CNDP_BoS) is linked to Sustainable Development Goal #4 of the United Nations:
‘Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’.
Seeing the vital importance of education for our national development and fostering the wellbeing of our citizens, I would like to reach today out to:
- our teachers … to thank you for shaping the future generations of our nation, by caring and teaching them the relevant skills and values to support sustainable development and good citizenship;
- our students … to encourage you to take ownership for your own future and take the liberty to be inquisitive, innovative and entrepreneurial in all aspects of life;
- our community at large … to support our teachers and students; to create a safe, inspiring, continuous learning environments everywhere … at home, at work, in sports and so on; and to collectively adopt an open mindset (‘a beginner’s mind’) to allow us to follow our passions and welcome opportunities life provides us, and to support each other in our personal growth.
Un felis i fruktifero dia di enseñansa.
