MFK sets ultimatum for Jardim

Schotte1WILLEMSTAD – Opposition party MFK thinks that it is time for the government to give parliament the opportunity to see the report made by PricewaterhouseCoopers on the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS).

The report containing the investigation on the functioning of the Central Bank has been some time in the hands of the Minister of Finance Dr. José Jardim, but has not yet been made available to parliament for examination.

Leader of the MFK faction in parliament, Gerrit Schotte sets an ultimatum and wants to know by the end of the week concretely when the report will be made available. Schotte is even considering for his party to present a motion of censure against Jardim who, according to Schotte, has had the report since October 16 of this year.

On October 17, Jardim said in parliament that in two weeks he will present the report to the MPs. According to Schotte the same minister said that he will give the central bank the time to review the report to ascertain whether the final version of the report accurately reflect their views.

“We’ve been over this again and again. Our question is when will Jardim present this report to us? Or another question that we may ask is whether there is something to hide in this report.”
