Minister at presentation of new energy policy: Return delivery rate Aqualectra is in line with market conditions

MartinaWILLEMSTAD - The Council of Ministers has ratified a new energy policy on Wednesday. That policy is all about sustainable energy consumption. The government wants to design the energy policy in such a way that it is in line with international trends and regulations.

Minister of Economic Development Steven Martina gave a presentation of the plans yesterday afternoon. This shows that the government strives to use at least 50% renewable energy sources, ie sustainable energy in 2035.

The government also wants to reduce national energy consumption per capita and create effective and transparent institutions, instruments and regulations for the realization and support of the energy sector.

According to Martina, the return rate of a 25 cents per KwH will no longer be increased because it is according to the market. The payback period has increased considerably by lowering the rate. The minister says that a payback period of 7 to 10 years is more realistic than the payback time of 3 years, as in the beginning.
