Minister Balborda: Use 20 feet container to store clients’ belongings
WILLEMSTAD – Relating to the latest news about residents living in houses owned by the Fundashon Kas Popular (FKP) (Government housing) who have not paid their rent in a long period of time, even after repeated reminders, will be evicted, Minister Balborda made the following proposal to FKP; “The FKP has been following a strict policy. Whatever happens, we must take into consideration that we are dealing with humans here and for that reason I’m making a suggestion to the FKP. When you come to the point of having to evict a tenant, please use a 20 feet container to store their belongings and therefore to save them and also to maintain their dignity.”
“In a country with laws, it is not permissible to keep a client in a Government house whose not paying rent. I’m not applauding the fact that there are people who have huge debts with the FKP, obligating the foundation to take action against them. But considering the abovementioned points, I’m asking the FKP management to still use the 20 feet container to help those evicted. The costs will be paid by the client.”
The Minister urged those tenants to not let the situation get worse. FKP is willing to reach an agreement. The Minister then thanked FKP for accepting his proposal.
