Minister Palm invited as guest at the conference of the IACC

de palmHONG KONG, WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Economic Development, Stanley Palm will give a presentation during the semi-annual conference of the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC) in Hong Kong, China this year.

The IACC is the world’s largest non-profit organization devoted solely to protecting intellectual property and deterring counterfeiting. The organization’s membership spans from automotive, apparel, luxury goods and pharmaceuticals, to food, software and entertainment. Their common goal is to combat counterfeiting and piracy.

The presentation, which will be given by the Minister, is for a selected group who has great interest in Curacao. The Minister will also participate in various other meetings during the conference.

According to the Department of Economic Development, it is important for Curacao to participate in these kinds of conferences to increase international awareness that the island’s objective is to become a notable international logistical actor, which attracts new businesses based on high quality technology. It is also important to indicate that Curacao respects the intellectual property.
