Navarro acquiring weapons for Coast Guard
WILLEMSTAD – The government of Curaçao is preparing to acquiring weapons for the local Coast Guard personnel. This was confirmed by the Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro.
The minister indicated that he’s still in the phase of evaluating which kind of weapon the government will acquire. But he believes that by mid-May they will have a decision in this process. “It’s about time to arm our local people employed at the Coast Guard.”
The minister also indicated that after the government has decided which kind of weapons they would like to acquire, they will hold a public tender for companies to make their offer.
