Navarro buys weapons without public tender
WILLEMSTAD – The Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro and his Ministry did not follow the procedures of good governance in the purchase of weapons. This time it involves the purchasing of 35 Glock weapons for the Sentro di Detenshon i Korekshon Korsou (Curaçao prison).
Earlier there was already a fuss about purchasing surveillance cameras for the most trafficked areas on the island. This also happened without a public tender.
According to the ministry, they don’t have to hold a public tender, because the police already use the Glock as their weapon of choice.
The Minister believes that the Prison Security Team must also use the same type of weapon.
