Navarro: ‘Traffic Report never received’

NavarroWILLEMSTAD - Minister of Justice Nelson Navarro has never received a report with recommendations on road safety from the Road Safety Committee. This is according to the Minister in a brief response to statements made by Yves Cooper, who is a member of this committee.

Cooper said at the beginning of this week that he has mailed this report to the Minister almost half a year ago, but never heard a response from him.

Navarro indicated that he has asked for the report at that time, but he never received it from Mr. Cooper. The report does not exist at all, according to the Minister.

The Road Safety Committee was set up by former Ministers Charles Cooper of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning and former Minister of Justice Elmer ' Kadè ' Wilsoe in 2012.

Even then, a report was supposed to be made and submitted to the Minister within three months.

According to Yves Cooper, the other members of the committee are Tico Ruiter (on behalf of the police force), former Minister Sherwin Josepa (Public Works) and Frensel Mercilia (Public Works).
