New air quality monitoring station Julianadorp in 2016
WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch Ministry of Defense begins in January 2016 with measurements of the air quality in Curaçao. This is following the complaints from the defense personnel living in Julianadorp in 2013.
The measurements are performed by the Public Health Department (GGD) Amsterdam commissioned by Minister Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert of Defense.
Some of the employees at that time moved to a different neighborhood and received a relocation allowance.
GGD Amsterdam conducted since 2009 air quality measurements in Curaçao. From January next year, however, there will be a new measuring station located in Julianadorp. Measurements will then be made at several places on the island.
Minister of Public Health, Environment and Nature, Ben Whiteman Minister of Health has been informed about this. The results of the measurements are shared with the local authorities and published on the website.
