New Ombudsman sworn
WILLEMSTAD - Keursly Concincion was sworn in yesterday as Curaçao’s new Ombudsman by the President of Parliament, Marcolino Franco.
Concincion has been working as a deputy chief at the Ombudsman’s office since 2011. During his inauguration, the new ombudsman indicated that the service his office provides to the citizens provides room for improvement.
“We have to take a proactive stance and not wait until something goes wrong then to undertake action,” said Concincion.
Concincion is Curaçao’s third Ombudsman after Fred Wiel and Alba Martijn, who retired earlier this year. Martijn is mostly known for her report on the Minister Plenipotentiary in The Hague, Marvelyne Wiels.
