Officials agree to exchange information twice a year

WILLEMSTAD — Premier Daniel Hodge (PS) and Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Ronald Plasterk, signed the agreement for the Official Legislation Deliberation Kingdom Relations (Awok) whereby officials from the Kingdom make agreements on legislation. The Awok establishes that officials will meet twice a year to exchange information on official legislation. The agreement was also signed by Minister of Justice and Education for Aruba, Arthur Dowers, and the Premier of St. Maarten, Sarah Wescot-Williams.

Although the Awok exists since 2007, it is now even more important after the new Kingdom relation. The various countries have an interest in remaining well informed of the judicial developments within the Kingdom – especially as regards the rules of the Supreme Court and the Communal Court of Curaçao, Aruba and St. Maarten, and that of the BES-Islands
