PAIS denies discussing Premiership

Office of the Prime MinisterWILLEMSTAD – There were no talks about the post of Prime Minister with the political party PAIS. PAIS continues to support the government’s agreement “Peace, Tranquility and Prosperity” and also the current coalition comprised of Pueblo Soberano (PS), PAIS, National People’s Party (PNP) and the independent member of Parliament, Glenn Sulvaran.

This means that three of the portfolios in the current Government, Economy, Planning and Justice which were allocated to them, will remain with them in the new Government which will be installed this Friday.

Neither PAIS, nor a single member of the board of PAIS discussed the issue of Premiership. This has become an issue since all five members of Parliament for PS resigned from their party and became independent. This action means that PAIS becomes the largest party in the coalition.

According to PAIS, they wants clarity and no squabbles. "We need to create hope and not problems!"
