PAIS speaks out against discrimination towards gay people

AlexRosariaWILLEMSTAD - Coalition partner PAIS speaks vehemently against any form of discrimination against homosexuals on the island. This is according to the party officials in response to recent statements made by coalition partner Winfred "Wini" Raveneau who criticized the fact that Curaçao will host a gay pride celebration.

The party takes a powerful stand in their information bulletin called Paisahe against the offending statements made by the Pueblo Soberano MP.

PAIS finds it striking that if our forefathers had not fought against those people, organizations and racists, who discriminated against women by using texts from the bible, she would not have been an MP right now.

“It is known that religion was used to discriminate against women and people with different skin color and to keep them out of politics and government. Enough is enough with ignorance and ill will. More than ever, we need to think about what kind of island we want to be. We as PAIS are for everyone, regardless of race, color, position, belief or preference.”
