PAIS worried about Secret Service
WILLEMSTAD – Member of Parliament for the coalition party PAIS, Marilyn Moses regrets that the Secret Service of Curaçao (VDC) is still under discussion. Moses noted that the state of the VDC has been under discussion for about five years now and has not been able to win the confidence of both local and international services.
The VDC is according to Moses to protect the local democracy. She therefore regrets that the appointment of numerous crisis managers in the recent period has proved unsuccessful and that the security is still in crisis.
According to the parliamentarian, this must be tackled urgently. Moses has heard from various quarters that the VDC is not functioning as it should.
The MP also indicated that it is shameful that, at the request of a member of the Dutch Parliament, there will be a meeting in the Dutch Parliament to discuss Curaçao’s VDC.
Curaçao is responsible for ensuring that the VDC has been in a miserable situation for five years now.
“The fact that our VDC cannot count on the confidence of the United States or of the Netherlands is a serious matter. Our security must be independent, free from political interference and of high international level.”
She therefore urges the Government to take the VDC seriously.
