Palm: “No new gas stations in Curaçao”
WILLEMSTAD – There will be no new gas stations on the island for now. This is according to the Minister of Economic Development, Stanley Palm. His Ministry is in charge of the issuance of permits for gas stations on the island. The Minister has now imposed a moratorium.
According to the minister Curacao has 30 gas stations and that is “definitely more than enough on the island”. Only the geographical distribution is not correct. There are areas where there are many gas stations while others don’t have one at all, the Minister said.
A committee has been established to study this issue and to advise the Minister whether the Minister can make an exception to the moratorium in regions that don’t have gas stations.
