Parliament wants more insight into financial situation new hospital

Parliament4WILLEMSTAD - The Parliament of Curaçao wants to be better informed about the financial situation around the Hospital Nobo Otrobanda(HNO), the new hospital in Otrabanda. The authorities involved will be invited to provide clarification on the state of affairs.

This concerns the financing organization Sona, the board of the Sehos, the former supervisor Berenschot and the operating companies of the new hospital. The request for the meeting was submitted by Gilmar Pisas of the opposition party MFK; this in part as a result of previous contradictory statements by the Minister of Public Health Suzanne Camelia-Römer and Sona.

The meeting request of Pisas MP was approved, as well as his proposal that all relevant documents be made available to the Members of Parliament so that they can view them confidentially. A proposal from Stephen Walroud of the coalition partner PAR was also approved. He wants the Court of Audit to conduct an investigation into the audited annual accounts of HNO.
