Parliamentary debate on Wiels postponed
WILLEMSTAD – The parliamentary debate on the Minister Plenipotentiary Marvelyne Wiels and the devastating report on the Curaçao House by the Government Accountants Bureau (BAB) has been postponed. This meeting was scheduled for next week.
Prime Minister Bernhard Whiteman, who is politically responsible for the Minister Plenipotentiary will not be on the island to answer questions.
The President of Parliament, Marcolino Franco, who schedules the meetings does not know when the Prime Minister will be back. He was not able to say when the meeting will take place.
The Curaçao House has been under fire because of the financial mismanagement. The relation between the Minister Plenipotentiary and the staff is also a mess.
Wiels could not justify an amount of more than half a million guilders.
